Description:

MasterPlan assisted The Barossa Council in securing planning approval for the transformative redevelopment of Barossa Park at Lyndoch, creating a premier regional sporting and events destination for the Barossa.

The redevelopment significantly expanded and upgraded the existing recreation precinct, delivering a new AFL-standard oval, four netball courts, a two-storey clubroom, spectator viewing facilities, upgraded lighting, playgrounds, supporting amenities, and extensive parking and circulation infrastructure. The project also incorporated a range of landscape, stormwater and access improvements to support the long-term growth of community sport and recreation in the region.

MasterPlan led the planning approval process, coordinating a multidisciplinary consultant team and preparing the planning strategy, planning documentation preparation, and navigating the complex performance assessed application process involving state agency referrals, public notification and a broad range of technical considerations.

The completed facility has elevated Barossa Park to a venue of state significance, enabling the Barossa to host AFL Gather Round matches and major regional events while continuing to serve local sporting clubs and the wider community for generations to come.
